Decade Finishes Modelling Montrose Zone

Decade Resources Ltd. TSX-V: DEC has completed the modelling of 2007 to 2017 drill hole assays on the Montrose zone into a Leapfrog program. Gold values are related to several different phases of mineralization, namely sphalerite/galena/minor chalcopyrite/native gold and chalcopyrite/pyrite/native gold within a north-to-south-trending intrusive. The modelling of assay data is shown on the company’s website with grade shells of 0.5 gram per tonne, one g/t and five g/t. gold. This model has shown that the Montrose zone is a plunging structure with at least 600 metres of strike length, 400 m to 500 m of height, and up to 20 m width. It is open to depth and along strike. The Montrose zone is part of a large mineralized structure identified over 2.3 kilometres of strike length on the property which has been offset by a fault along Lydden Creek.

The work in 2018 will consist of drilling to expand on the significant results obtained in previous drilling from 2007 to 2017 on the Montrose zone. Drilling will be conducted on on the Waterpump zone, which is interpreted as the south fault extension of the Montrose zone. Highlights of assays obtained during the 2017 drill program on the Waterpump zone include:

  • Intersection of 13.88 g/t gold over 7.5 m in DDH-17-M0N-38;
  • Intersection of 10.41 g/t gold over 22.87 m in DDH-17-M0N-40;
  • Intersection of 7.21 g/t gold over 7.16 m in DDH-17-M0N-41.

Drilling will also be conducted at depth below DDH-2009-11, which intersected 12.65 m of 5.14 g/t gold. No follow-up drilling has been conducted in this area due to the difficult terrain. The company plans to create a drill pad in an area that would allow for testing below this intersection.

The property is located in the Golden Triangle area of British Columbia, 2.5 kilometres from a paved highway and the power grid. The area is among the world’s most prolific mineralized districts, host to past and current mining operations including Scottie Gold, Porter-Idaho, Johnny Mountain, Red Mountain, Snip mine, Premier mine, Golden Bear and Valley of the Kings. The Golden Triangle has reported mineral resources (past production and current resources) of 67 million ounces of gold, 569 million ounces of silver and 27 billion pounds of copper. Pretium is milling in excess of 2,700 tonnes per day from the Valley of the Kings deposit. It has 1.6 million ounces gold in the proven category (grade 14.5 g/t) and 6.5 million ounces in the probable category (16.1 g/t grade) (source: Pretium’s website). Seabridge has 460 million tonnes grading 0.68 g/t gold and 0.17 per cent copper in the proven category as well as 1,738 million tonnes grading 0.51 g/t gold and 0.22 per cent copper in the probable category. This reserve is within four different deposits (source: Seabridge’s website).

The company has completed removing snow from the drill trails, the evaluation of avalanche danger and the mobilization of drill equipment. Drilling early at the Waterpump zone removes the necessity for stringing two km of waterline over a great height for the drill, as snowmelt will provide the water necessary for drilling.

The company is also completing a geological model that shows the area of intrusive along with the different types of mineralization to aid in possible resource calculations. All drill log data are being reviewed to unitize all previous logging.

Ed Kruchkowski, PGeo, a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101, is in charge of the exploration programs on behalf of the company and is responsible for the contents of this release. Mr. Kruchkowski is not independent of Decade as he is the president of the company.

Decade is also pleased to announce the launch of the company’s redesigned website. The company encourages all current and potential shareholders to visit the website to explore the completed rebranding and redesign initiatives.
